Some Helpful Advice

Day 8 and the first day of week 2 doing this blog. I have a little confession to make, I have been keeping a juxtaposed journal to this blog of happiness which contains all my concerns and day to day worries. I suffer from acute anxiety attacks and have done for a very long time, the journal helps control these and the reason I'm sharing this with you all is because it really does help and I feel anybody who suffers anything ever remotely like this then this information could really help! OK so psychologically the way it works is that your brain is hard-wired to remember bad things, its how we learn "don't touch that, it burnt last time", "don't jump from this hight you will brake something", "Stop cooking ants with a lighter and aerosol because it will blow your face off" etc.
When you worry about something you think the worst, things keep running through your head on a continuous loop eventually snowballing out of control. You try to push these thoughts to the back of your mind but in doing so your subconscious pushes back twice as hard thinking its trying to protect you. If you write these down however something triggers in the brain (not sure what) but it's like your brain knows that the information has been stored somewhere and it allows it to pass, not to mention the victimless rant you just had at a piece of paper.

This simple 5 minuet exercise has stopped so many worries, I could see myself spiralling out of control again and simply by putting pen to paper it stopped it dead like a runaway wheelchair to the side of a bus.

Hope this helps someone out there :)
